Founded in 1941 by Rev.Fr. L. Shiel who acted as spiritual director in the early years. He was followed by Fr. Perrot in 1945 and in 1949 the club welcomed Fr. Michael McGrath.

In 1955, Our Lady's Boy's Club was officially affiliated to the Connacht Branch. In the club's first season, they reached the final of the minor cup beaten only by Ballinasloe. The Junior side came into their own in the second season 1956/57. Through the years the club has won many competitions and has seen many promotions as well.
